About Lacey Carter

Lacey Carter, PMHNP-BC, PMH-C, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and holds the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI). With over 12 years of experience in healthcare, she brings a strong clinical foundation paired with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to mental health care.

Her current clinical focus is centered on adults (18+), with a special emphasis on young adults navigating life transitions. She is particularly passionate about supporting individuals during pivotal seasons of change — whether that be entering adulthood, career changes, relationship changes, grief due to a loss, or parenthood.
Her approach to treatment is intentionally blended and individualized. She integrates medication management with psychotherapy techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), to create a well-rounded, patient-centered plan of care. She believes that meaningful progress happens when patients feel both supported and actively involved in their treatment, and she works collaboratively to ensure each plan aligns with her patients’ goals, values, and lived experiences.
Rooted Beginnings was created from the belief that psychiatric care should feel genuinely human — never rushed, impersonal, or transactional. Lacey is committed to creating a space where patients feel safe, understood, and respected. Her goal is for every individual to feel truly seen and to leave each session with something tangible — whether that is insight, relief, or practical tools for daily life.
This work holds deep personal meaning in the populations she serves — professionals who are quietly struggling while holding everything together, parents navigating the complexities of the perinatal period, and individuals facing life transitions that have unfolded faster than they could adapt. She shows up for these individuals with intention, empathy, and respect, honoring the trust they place in her care.
